Shib is a registered independent musician/vocalist with Indian Music Industries, Mumbai to publish and release his songs internationally under Publishers and Record Labels. He is also registered with BMI, USA (BMI IPI #1057541660 & 105741758). Professionally, he is an Assistant Professor of English and former Head of the Department (H.O.D.) of Humanities & Social Sciences at GKCIET, Malda — a technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in English from IGNOU, New Delhi in 2005 and 2008 respectively, and completed his Ph.D. in English from Techno India University, Kolkata in 2021. His dissertation focused on "Women in 21st Century Anglo-American Popular Song".
Shib has undergone advanced training in English Language Teaching at Exeter College, University of Oxford (2013), and studied Ethnomusicology at Charles University, Prague (2018). He was also an intern under the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture, Germany in 2011. His ethnographic research spanned across cities like Budapest, Rome, Vienna, Prague, Birmingham, London, Cork, Dublin, Limerick, and Cardiff.
He has presented his research at prestigious platforms including EUPOP2019 in Ireland and Innovation in Music 2019 in London, 2022 in Stockholm and 2023 in Edinburgh, The British Forum for Ethnomusicology (BFE)/ Royal Musical Association (RMA) Research Students’ Conference 2022 held at the University of Plymouth, Plymouth, UK. His studio albums are mixed and mastered by world class award-winning engineers like Trevor Gibson, Goetz Botzenhardt, Andrea Succi, Barry Grint, and Zac Zikis, and published by Integrity Publishing Ltd. (UK) and Song Trust (USA).
He studied Western contemporary vocals at Calcutta School of Music (2016–2020), and his music videos like Yada Yada and I Am Virus were produced internationally and filmed in London and Manchester under Irish and British production houses.
"I Am Virus"— themed around the global pandemic and — was produced by Steve Robin and recorded at "The Barnrecording Studios" in Brisbane, Australia. Music videos of "I am virus" and "Yada Yada" have been screened at the film festival of 48th World Conference of International Council of Tradion of Music and Dance (ICTMD) in January 2025 hosted by Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
