Shib is a registered independent musician/vocalist with Indian Music Industries, Mumbai to publish and release his songs internationally under Publishers and Record Labels. He is also registered with BMI,USA a performing rights organization having BMI IPI # 1057541660 and 105741758. Though by profession he is an Assistant Professor of English and former Head of the Department (H.O.D.) of Humanities & Social Sciences at GKCIET, Malda (a technical institute under Ministry of Education, New Delhi, Govt. of India. ( https://www.gkciet.ac.in/faculty/68 ), where he has been teaching since 2014. Shib was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in English Honors and a Master's Degree in English by IGNOU, Central University, New Delhi, India in 2005 and 2008 respectively. Shib earned his Ph.D. from Techno India University, Kolkata, under the department of English in June 2021. His Ph.D. dissertation was "Women in 21st Century Anglo-American Popular Song". Besides, he did his English Language Teachers’ Training summer school course from Exeter College, University of Oxford, England in 2013 and a Summer School course on Ethnomusicology from Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic in 2018. He remained an intern of the 25th International Rural Youth Development program, Hersching, Munich, Germany from July to August 2011 under the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture, Bonn, Germany. He has carried out his Ph.D. ethnographic fieldwork in Budapest, Rome, Vienna, Prague, Birmingham, London, Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Cardiff. He presented one of his research papers in the EUPOP2019 conference at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick, Ireland in July 2019. Shib was selected to represent his own music and PhD-related paper at the international conference "Innovation in Music 2019" held at the University of West London from 5-8 December 2019 in association with the London College of Music. He has been working for the last 15 years on his own studio albums of English Language songs which got mixed at “Circle Studios” in Birmingham by Grammy-winning chief engineer Trevor Gibson. His songs also got mixed at Puzzlemaker Studios, Bristol by country music award winner Andrea Succi. Legendary mastering engineer Barry Grint of Air Studios, London, and Zac Zikis of "Zikkis Mastering" Birmingham have mastered his songs. Chayan Chakroborty of Kolkata and Abhinava Mukherjee of Mumbai, Biplab Dhar of Malda and Steve Robin from Brisbane are the producers of Shib's English Language songs. Till date twelve numbers of his songs have been published in the UK for worldwide presentation by Integrity Publishing Ltd, UK (Modern Music Publisher of the United Kingdom) and five numbers of his songs are registered with US-based publisher Song Trust. A few more of his songs are under construction which will be published in 2025. Shib has remained a scholar of the Western contemporary vocal section from 2016 to 2020 at Calcutta School of Music, Kolkata. In June 2022 at the "Innovation in Music" conference his song "I Am Virus" was presented in person at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, Sweden. In 2023 from 30 June to 2 July at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland he presented the research of his song "Yada Yada" which was mixed and mastered under the management of world-famous Air Studios, in London, UK. Two of his music videos are filmed in London and Manchester which are available on YouTube on Shib's VEVO channel. Renowned music video directors from Ireland Lorra White and Manchester based director Adama Barker have directed his music videos under Irish production house Music Video Market Place and British production house Video Inc,Manchester. His first EP "Amorphous" ( https://ditto.fm/amorphous-shib ) was released on 23 February, 2024 having six English language songs. Shib's second EP titled "Anthelion" ( https://ditto.fm/anthelion ) having four English language songs and one Bengali version song (total five songs) was released on 27th September 2024. His third EP "Amorphous 2" ( https://ditto.fm/amorphous-2 ) having four English language songs was released on 28th November 2024. Shib's fourth EP titled "1946" (https://ditto.fm/1946) contains two songs released on 3rd Feb. 2025. Among his songs "I am Virus" is based on the pandemic and global humanitarian crisis. Shib has tried to create an anthropomorphic theme in this song and has given a great message to civilization on how to get rid of this deadly coronavirus. This song was produced by Mr. Steve Robin and recorded at "The Barn" Recording studio, in Brisbane, Australia. The song has been filmed in Manchester, UK. Shib is also a member of The International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM), a voting Member of International Council of Tradition of Music and Dance (ICTMD), Royal Musical Association, Manchester, United Kingdom and the European Popular Culture Association ( EPCA). He is also a member of the International Singer Songwriter Association, USA.
